Rita B. This is a wonderful rustic lakeside cottage which is lovingly maintained. The view is spectacular and the swimming is great. It is tempting to just spend all your time at the cottage reading and relaxing.

Josh H. This Lake experience has far been the most amazing vacation I've had in years. The crystal clear waters made every moment and enjoyable one the kids and I both had so much fun snorkeling and kayaking in this beautiful Lake. Everything at the cabin was tip top brett had provided everything that you could possibly think of to make our trip and enjoyable one... thank you for the wonderful experience we will be staying again!

Adrian M. This cottage is a sleeper! The access views and serenity of Torch Lake here are wonderful. Our family had plenty of space here and enjoyed every moment! Brett described everything perfectly beforehand and Fields and Ivy were most accommodating. If you are looking for a relaxing and peaceful getaway on Torch Lake this is a great find! We would love to vacation here again!

Paul S. High marks on the 3 C's: Clean, Comfortable and Convenient. The cabin was neat, tidy and a pleasure to relax in when not out exploring. It was well-supplied and had everything we needed. Comments about the view at the cabin were not exaggerated (beautiful sunrises). The cabin was well-situated. It was a short drive to so many interesting and scenic places. We appreciated not having to spend much time in the car. But again, the view from the back porch of the cabin those October mornings still ranked as one of our favorites for this vacation. Thanks for letting us enjoy this terrific spot.

April D. We loved the feel and nostalgia of the cottage. The cottage was very clean and well kept. Being able to stay right on the lake was fantastic, with its crystal clear gentle waves. We would recommend this place to all our friends and family. Loved the little beach area and looking for neat rocks. The water was cold but refreshing. Fire pit at night was so much fun. We can't wait to return for another stay at the cottage on Torch Lake!

Elizabeth “Zilly” R. Brett’s cabin was everything I could have hoped for and so much more. The generosity he demonstrates by sharing this multigenerational gem with the public is apparent the minute you set foot on the property. It would take me an hour to list all the things I love about the cabin, the property, the area, and Brett. Everyone should have a bonafide “cabin on the lake” vacation at least once in their lives. You’ll be lucky if this is yours. I plan to go back many times in the future. My husband and kids loved everything about it too! Thanks again, Brett!

Ryan P. We were blown away with the views and the overall beauty this cottage had to offer and it was perfect for a cozy weekend for my girlfriend and I. It was conveniently located between Shorts and Traverse City so it gave us a great home base to rest up after a long day. I would definitely consider starting here again.

Cliff M. This place is great! I brought my gal here to show her Torch Lake and wow, we were both blown away. The lake is even more beautiful than we imagined. The cabin was just as terrific. Brett, was very responsive and helpful, the caretakers were available professional. The cabin was clean and pristine, with everything you could possibly need. The owners obviously love this place and take a personal pride in making sure their guests have the best possible time.

Beth C. The cottage is better than described. For us, every detail exceeded our expectation. I enjoyed the fact that it faces the east so every morning you have the most spectacular sunrise, even if it looks like overcast, don't give up! The water was gorgeous with a sandy bottom that felt like carpet. Sure it was cool, but it was 80 degrees in northern MI when we were there, Torch Lake always stays cool. There is a small private beach area that you can look for pretty rocks. The fire pit area had plenty of chairs and well-stocked with firewood. The location is perfect for day excursions, however when we were out and about, I couldn't wait to get back to this gem of a place! I am so happy we found this darling place full of rich family history. The owners have had the home in their family for years and thankfully they are sharing it with others. We loved it here and have no reason to stay anywhere else when at Torch Lake.
